“Unbridled” FREE on Kindle Unlimited

Unbridled is now on Kindle Unlimited!

This is an official announcement that my debut novel Unbridled is now only on Amazon. I have taken it down from other channels because I wanted to take advantage of some of the marketing options that KDP Select offers. Plus, there has been no monetary benefit for me on other channels for the past four years since publication.

What this means:

  • Unbridled is now available for Kindle Unlimited subscribers for FREE. If you are a KU patron you can now read Unbridled for no extra charge.
  • I will be able to offer free days or other specials for Unbridled which I’ve been wanting to do.
  • An easier way to do a giveaway through Amazon.

If you have bout Unbridled previously on other channels not on Amazon, I do regret that I will not be re-uploading it to those services in the future. If you would still like a copy and get your money’s worth, please comment so I can get in contact with you and see if I can get a copy to you or let you know when I’ll be posting it free on Amazon outside of Kindle Unlimited.

Thanks!

War Fury excerpt #Mondayblogs

Yay, the first story for The Avenging Sisters has been released! Thank you to all who has picked up a copy and read it! I appreciate your support.

Thank you to the one lone reviewer that kindly posted a review this morning!

If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, please find it HERE. It’s also available FREE on Kindle Unlimited.

With that said, onto the excerpt from the next installment – War Fury.

She could see on her sisters’ faces that they knew she had presented a good suggestion. Nyx’s sacred springs were vital to their existence to remain sheltered in these human forms. These human bodies weren’t their real bodies, and to maintain the shell that encased their demigod nature, they had to often cleanse the stains of humanity from their inner selves – their aura, and they had to do it while shedding the human skin within the springs and becoming their true selves again.

Of course, they would resume occupying the human flesh once they were fully rejuvenated, but the cleansing was occasionally needed. Mixing their Fury nature with that of these human bodies and the human souls they occupied often got build up of lesser residue that dulled their full powers.

In Nyx’s spring it was almost like they were returning to their birthplace, as she had created those springs out of the waters in which she had first created them.

Cheers,

Mod Fury is up for Pre-Order!

Well, I finally released another story. It’s been a rough few years since I released “Unbridled” in 2014.

We’ve packed up, sold a house, bought a house, moved, I got pregnant, had a beautiful baby girl, changed jobs, gone through some financial struggles – but now I finally am getting into a routine where I can seriously work on my books again.

This is a short story prelude to an upcoming series about a modern take on the Greek Furies. Available for pre-order and free on KU!

#Mondayblogs – War Fury excerpt

War Fury is the second novella in my Avenging Sisters Series. The first prequel short story, Mod Fury, will be released this Spring 2018.

The bad man had deprived her of this childhood with this wonderful woman and wonderful man, and now she had another life to live as she made a bargain with this goddess. Whatever that entailed, her future would never compare to the life she could have had with her mother.

“Come, we must go now. Your parents need their rest. After all, your mother is going to bring you a brother soon,” Nyx said.

The news startled Shana and she lifted up her head and wiped away tears and snot from her face. “What?” She met Nyx’s swirling starry eyes.

“Yes, your parents are going to have a baby. They will never give up searching for you, but they will never give up on their love either.”

“I’m going to have a brother?” Shana asked and though she felt joy, she almost felt jealous of the boy too. She didn’t mean to, and Nyx had read her emotions again.

“Do not worry about your future. I will take care of you, and you may see your family any time you wish, as long as it does not interfere with my duties,” Nyx said to her.

Shana sniffled and nodded once. “As long as I can see them someday…”

“Yes,” Nyx said. “Despite what is written about me, I am not a cruel goddess.”

Shana’s curiosity piqued at that statement, but she would trust this goddess. She had no choice. Nyx had saved her from a terrible fate from the bad man, and she gave her the gift of seeing her parents again.

Shroud of Soil – Flash Fiction Friday

Title: Shroud of Soil

Author: HK Rowe

Characters: Lilith and Eve

Word Count: 300

Prompt: purple @danceharden Flash Fiction Friday {Black Collar Bugle} #bcb_fff

Warnings: slight necrophilia implications, character death

Links: Part of The Sinner and the Serpent.

Summary: Eve is hers at last.

She ran her fingers over the dry soil layered over Eve’s body.

Finally, the second wife was hers. She had waited for her. They had met in secret, but Eve could never stay with her. Eve was never going to be her wife.

Lilith could touch her now. She ran her fingers over Eve’s lips, opening the mouth, running her finger over tongue and teeth.

“You smell lovely as always, my dove,” she told her, and Lilith snuggled up to Eve’s side, inhaling the rich scent of dirt and decay.

Eve’s once pale, freckled skin was turning a violet hue from death. Lilith ran her fingers softly through Eve’s hair and felt unshed tears forming in her eyes. She snuggled Eve closer and sighed against her.

She didn’t care if they stayed frozen like this. Eve’s body would rot and Lilith’s curse would preserve her forever. Lilith loved her regardless. She would hold her until Eve was nothing but dust and bones.

Lilith kissed the purple skin and rested her head into the crook of Eve’s shoulder. Her hands caressed the body and she imagined her lover alive again, dancing and laughing with her under the full moon. She settled into the dirt holding her tightly, refusing to leave her as it became a resting place for them both. Lilith would wait, and when Eve’s body was truly gone she’d bury her in the beaches of the Red Sea so dust and bone could mix with sand, and Eve would always be under her feet.

Lilith choked back a sob. She cursed God. She hated Adam.

But she would always love Eve, and she would find her again. Each one of her, as her soul passed on from body to body. She’d find her. She’d love her.

Again and again.

I’m not dead yet!

You would think this blog is dead, wouldn’t you? But it’s not. I assure you. Don’t believe me? Well, I can’t help that.

Writing status:

Mod Fury is on it’s very very very last edits. I promise!

I signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo for April to work on War Fury, the next story. I started it back in November and plan to finish it for camp. Honest!

I have plans to update/organize The Sinner and the Serpent. SOON.

I have not given up on Killer Orange. Edits are going on. Voices won’t shut up. More scenes and rewrites are imminent.

Book Cover status:

I worked on a book cover for a fellow indie author Rebecca Crunden for her book Haze. I will post links and pictures when the book is out. I’m rather proud of it honestly.

Book Giveaway: Touch of Death

It’s been awhile since I posted here. I apologize for that. It’s been a busy year for me and I’m hoping to have more time in 2018 to post here. I do maintain an active private personal blog on Dreamwidth/LJ so that makes it harder to juggle social media outlets. Plus having a 1 year old doesn’t always give me adequate time.

I am 98% done with Mod Fury. My goal is to get it out before the end of 2017. Nanowrimo really helped me get far with it and even start the next in the series, even though I didn’t complete the book.

Now the purpose of this post. I am a huge proponent of helping Indie Authors. I am a member of a self-published group and have met some great people there. One of the authors is doing a giveaway and since Goodreads is going to charge for giveaways, she’s doing her own at her blog and at this community. Please, if you enjoy layered characters, action and well done world building, please join her Giveaway. Her book is currently free on Kindle Unlimited.

The Sinner and the Serpent: Tales of Lilith and Eve

Just a quick update!

I know I’ve been absent from here for a long time again. I recently got a new job, and I’m getting used to a new routine with my daughter in daycare as well. I’m hoping to get back into writing soon. I plan on publishing “Mod Fury” within the next couple of months to Amazon Kindle Publishing.  I’m still drafting a few other stories as well. I am going to attempt Nanowrimo again this year. Let’s hope with better results. Things are much harder when you become a new parent!

In the meantime, I’m working on a collection of short stories that revolve around Lilith and Eve from Judeo-Christian mythology. I have uploaded all current stories on Wattpad FREE to read. I am working on more as well. They will be short stories, drabbles, flash fiction and poetry, whatever my muse wants! Please feel free to check it out. I also designed the cover as well.

I’ll update again soon! Thanks for sticking with me.
